I can't get over the major increase in diamonds this summer!. I watched them go up and down in 1980 and 1981, but this is incredible! We sell 3 and 4 carat solitaires and they are getting harder to find and hard to find in good qualities. The OEC diamonds are poplar today. I've had two calls for 3 carat stones. Of course, the diva never turns anyone away and shall make it her mission to fill their desires. And as an interesting side note, I've received several emails asking about moissanites again. It seems to go in cycles. Diamond prices go up, moissanite interest grows. Personally the greenish color moissanites are a big turnoff to me. The really green ones remind me of emeralds and this pleases the diva. Just as a diamond is forever so are moissanites and you know dear friends, it won't be long (YEAH!) until those synthetic diamonds really creep into our lives and won't that be fun!

Does the diamond's cut count?
But of course, the diamond cut is important! Take these two round diamonds. One is an Old European Cut and the other is a standard round brilliant cut. Let's forget the color and clarity. Notice how out of shape the OEC is. Even at 5.40 carats, it's not too terrific to look at. The other is a 1.02 carat round I took in on trade last week. Notice how it sparkles. There is a small inclusion on the table surface and it still lights
my fire!
