Thank you for reading my blog site!
If you haven't read The Secret" then this might not make a lot of sense to you. The Diva loves to get signs and messages from the Universe, and this one was the most exciting one ever.
Back in the mid 1980's, the Diva was attached to her first husband...a police officer. He was having all these issues with superiors that "didn't understand his need to soar like an eagle". The Diva was into cross stitching at the time and I wanted to do something special for the attachment's birthday. So this is what I spent weeks working on.
"It's hard to be an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys."
I don't think my attachment even gave it a second glance before tossing it back to me. So I hung it on the wall and used it as my own mantra. (That mantra is probably part of the reason he is an EX-attachment!)
I can't remember exactly where I discarded it. Must have been after I married my fab second husband, Stephen. He's an interior decorator. He remembered seeing it..but alas, he didn't appreciate my talent in that respect, either! I had my one (AND ONLY!) garage sale on Labor Day weekend in 1994. The cross stitch must have been included. I hadn't thought of it in years.
Yesterday was a long day. I had asked for a sign to help me know what I was working on was the right thing to do. My dilema was a difficult one, trust me! I decided to take a break and walk next door to "Years To Your Health", this really terrific organic store. I think I am so lucky to have this right next door! We were discussing "organic beef...it's what's for dinner" and the owner took me in the back to see something and there it was!!!!
On her wall!!! The cross stitich from all those years ago!
My mouth dropped only and I couldn't believe my eyes!
Now when The Diva asks for a sign...she usually goes all out, but this one was a shocker...even to me.
I realize that each of us is on our own journey or path, searching for that which is usually right under our noses, or in my case....next door!
Remember what Dorothy talked about near the end of "The Wizard of OZ" If I ever go looking for my heart's desire, I shouldn't look any further that my own back yard. Because if it isn't there, I never really lost it to begin with." I stand amazed at this wonderful universe.........
My dilmena isn't nearly so difficult anymore. Thank you.....
