Now that summer's here, it's time to get your prongs checked, keep your jewelry out of the pool (and bleach!) and think about getting rid of scrap gold. Repeat after me...BLEACH IS BAD FOR GOLD JEWELRY...so play keep away with it!
My favorite saying is that if you get your teeth checked and your prongs checked every six months, it won't be painful and you're preventing problems! And most jewelers don't charged for checking and cleaning, but be sure to ask first.
Scrap gold. Today we are at $1191.00 an oz for gold. hat is down from the $1250.00 we saw last week, but still higher than the $600.00 it used to be. So, go through the jewelry box, dig out the broken chains, "only" earrings and class rings you'll never wear again and turn them into cash for your summer vacation or paint a room in your house, maybe even a new fridge! And there is always the "back to school" dues to consider.
